The 30th of May 2012 marked the 35th anniversary of Subase Pearl Harbor Det 716.

On 30 April and 01 May 1977 the first drill weekend for Subase was held at the Naval Reserve Center at Fort Snelling in the Twin Cities of Minnesota with Cdr Alan Anderson as the commanding officer, Lt Edward Kimball as the executive officer and Lt David Francis as the training officer.

On Saturday the 28th of April, 2012 a breakfast get-together was held at a local Perkins Restaurant in the Twin Cities to celebrate the occasion. The attendance was twenty-five Subase veterans and guests, a few of which were plank owners of the unit.

Among those attending were the units first CO and TO.  The first XO was expected to also attend but took ill the day before the gathering.
