We held our Fall bi-annual breakfast get-together this morning at Perkins Restaurant in Bloomington, MN.  A flyer was brought to the gathering by one of our shipmates asking for donations for the critically injured Army Sargent that was recently hit by a hit-and-run driver and dragged for nearly a mile.  The Sargent, a recruiter in the north suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul will need to undergo months of reconstructive surgery due to the ordeal.
We decided to take up a collection among those at the gathering to hopefully add a little sunshine to our fellow veteran's misfortune.  We managed to raise $125.00 which I sent off to their website.

All those who attended the breakfast, upon hearing of the idea of donating to this fund, without pause, reached for their wallets and gave a little to help one of our own.  This says so much for the calibar of the men and women who all share a comon bond once the uniform of our armed forces is put on and worn.
